The Prince William County Fair is in full swing this August giving everyone a little time to have some fun before school starts later this month. The fair runs Friday, August 13th through Saturday, August 21st and the gates will open at 2pm on both Saturdays, Sunday, and Tuesday and will open at 5pm on all other days. The fair is located at Prince William Fairgrounds, 10624 Dumfries Road, Manassas. Ticket prices vary and information about tickets is available at https://pwcfair.com/2021-fair/#social.
The Prince William County Fair was started in 1949 by a group of World War II Veterans looking to promote the county’s local agriculture. The fair was owned and run by the Prince William Veterans Farm Club until they sold it in 2019. The new owner retained the name of the Prince William Veterans Farm Club and brought the popular fair back to life this year after a hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic.
This year the fair has brought back some favorite acts and has added some exciting new ones as well. This year the fair has carnival rides, camel and pony rides, farm animals, a demolition derby. The fair has shows each day such as Puppy Pals and One Wheel Wonder (which both got their starts on America’s Got Talent) and The Big Bubble Show which was a huge hit at the fair in 2019. A band will play each day starting at 7pm in the Show Barn. There are also 4H Exhibits, local crafters and vendors, and of course, lots of food vendors.
