If you’re someone who loves local, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as supporting unique local business, the Manassas Farmer’s Market is the place to be on Thursday and Saturday mornings from early April through the end of November.
Thursday’s market is located at the Harris Pavilion (9201 Center Street, Manassas, VA) and runs from 8am through 1pm. This is a great option to visit if you want to shop in the shade and out of the hot summer sun.
Saturday’s market is located at the commuter parking lot across from Baldwin Primary School (9204 Prince William St, Manassas, VA). This market is more spread out and tends to have a few more vendors than the Thursday one.
The Manassas Farmer’s Market started back in 1988 and only had 4 vendors. Now it has grown to 80+ vendors and is held two days a week. It was voted the “Best Market in Virginia in 2020” by Prince William Living magazine. In addition to local produce, there are many food vendors with quite the variety of foods for sale, as well as plant, jewelry, soap and lotion, and arts and craft vendors. There is something for just about everyone at this market. You can check their website (https://visitmanassas.org/the-farmers-market/) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/cityofmanassasfarmersmarket) for updates on open dates and times as well as vendors. On their website, you can also find an application if you’d like to apply to be a vendor.
So if you’re looking for something to do on a Thursday or Saturday morning, look no further. This is definitely a market that you’ll want to check out. Please note, no dogs are allowed at the markets.
